Evidentiary quid pro quo

Remember the U.S. Air Force case in which German officials were withholding evidence because the case was potentially capital? It has now been announced that the case will not be referred as capital. German officials are awaiting formal notification. It seems fair to assume the withheld evidence will now be turned over to U.S. authorities.

Charges against Staff Sgt. Sean Oliver include murder, assault, adultery and making a false official statement. Editorial comment: was it really necessary to include the adultery charge?
