Charges dropped against Brigadier Ondoga after nearly two years in confinement

Brig. Michael Ondoga, UPDF
New Vision reports that the prosecution has dropped all remaining charges against Ugandan Brigadier Michael Ondoga, after he was kept in confinement for nearly two years. Details of the entire case can be found here. The president of the general court-martial indicated that the charges can be revived if the government comes up with more evidence, although this seems extremely strange since one would think jeopardy attached once evidence was adduced. Two other officers were also acquitted.
